This policy has been revoked by the Marine Park Authority Board at MPA288 on 3 December 2024. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) has responsibility for regulating structures and the discharge of treated sewage from marine outfalls within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park (Marine Park). This Policy has been developed in consultation with the Queensland Government and is complementary with the State policy where it applies to the discharge of treated sewage via marine outfalls to the Marine Park.en
