Abstract: | This report details the Program’s achievements in addressing threats and enhancing the resilience of species, habitats and ecosystems across the World Heritage Area. It reports on progress in implementing the Program’s Annual Business Plan 2023–24 through a range of activities, including conservation actions, monitoring changes, responding to incidents, welcoming visitors and upholding compliance. Highlights of this year’s Program include increased collaboration with Indigenous Land and Sea Rangers to manage Sea Country across the Reef, significantly increasing the island protected area estate, protecting key species with pest eradication programs, enhancing visitor experiences with new infrastructure and boosting compliance with innovative technologies, such as drones and vessel monitoring systems. |
