Abstract: For 20 years, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Zoning Plan 2003 has been a foundational management tool in protecting the Great Barrier Reef. Built on the foundations of robust science and consultation, the zoning plan was guided by the Representative Areas Program. This document steps through the process and learnings of the development of the zoning plan, and the benefits to the Reef.
