Abstract: A comprehensive scientific literature review and several additional factors and lines of evidence were used to assess the benefits and risks of fish aggregating devices and artificial reefs against the main object of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975 (Cth) and the outstanding universal values of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. This Information Sheet provides a summary of the factors and lines of evidence used to develop the Policy on Fish Aggregating Devices and Artificial Reefs (2023).
