dc.description.abstract | Insight Stories is a digital magazine that serve as a window into the transformative endeavours of the Reef Joint Field Management Program—a collaborative effort between the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. With a rich history spanning over 45 years, this award-winning program is dedicated to safeguarding the values of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, fostering resilience while also supporting Traditional Owner opportunities and sustainable use. Through vibrant narratives and immersive multimedia content, the e-magazine provides a dynamic platform for showcasing the program's multifaceted initiatives. From the vigilant monitoring of internationally significant turtle and seabird nesting sites to the strategic deployment of cutting-edge technologies like drones and vessel monitoring systems, the program's actions are as diverse as they are impactful. Insight Stories aims to unveil 1–2 issues annually, each offering an insightful overview of the program through up to five compelling feature stories from the year. By cultivating awareness and understanding, this publication strives to instill a deep appreciation for the indispensable management and protection efforts of the field management program, ensuring that all Australians and international visitors can continue to cherish and enjoy the World Heritage Area now and in the future. | en |
