Abstract: [Extract] This study seeks to fulfill two purposes: 1. Specifically it investigates the consequences of commercial fishing on possible predators of the Crown of Thorns starfish, A.planci. 2. More broadly it seeks to establish the framework for a database of fisheries related information on the Great Barrier Reef. The rationale and conceptual framework needed to implement these two aims are outlined in the following sections.
