dc.description.abstractFisheries factors affecting management of marine parks in general, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in particular, have been surveyed. Existing and potential commercial, recreational and subsistence fisheries have been considered in terms of their aims, and the conflicts they generate. Regulation, in terms of both the possible strategies and their effects and existing legislation is considered,and finally, possible implications of these matters for the Authority are suggested.en
