Abstract

The Great Barrier Reef is the most diverse coral reef ecosystem in the world, being home to thousands of species of marine wildlife. Its social, economic and environmental value to the Australian and international community is immense. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) is responsible for its planning and management through the control, care and development of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
