The 2025 Reef Forum, convened by the Reef Authority, brought together 56 participants, including Traditional Owners, scientists, community representatives, industry stakeholders, NGOs, recreational fishers, and government agencies - at a critical juncture following consecutive mass coral bleaching events on the Great Barrier Reef. The Forum aimed to enhance shared understanding of climate challenges and inform the evolution of resilience-based management across the Marine Park. Over two days, participants reviewed climate projections, emerging science, case studies, and practical scenarios, engaging with key concepts such as refugia, connectivity, the resilient reefs network, and new mapping tools. The discussions emphasised that business-as-usual approaches will not sustain the Reef under accelerating climate pressures. Protecting this iconic ecosystem will require flexible, proactive, and innovative management, guided by decisive action, risk-informed decision-making, and transparent communication. This outcomes document captures the breadth of perspectives and insights shared, without making formal recommendations.
