On 1 July 2004, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Zoning Plan 2003 came into effect. It changed the zoning and activities allowed in zones for the Marine Park. Briggs Reef is now zoned Marine National Park Zone, for more information please refer to the Zoning Plan and maps.
