On 1 July 2004, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Zoning Plan 2003 came into effect. It changed the zoning and activities allowed in zones for the Marine Park. Hastings Reef Locality 1 is now zoned Marine National Park Zone, for more information please refer to the Zoning Plan and maps.
