dc.description.abstract | On 24 June 1987 the Prime Minister and the Premier of Queensland jointly opened Great Barrier Reef Wonderland in Townsville. This was the culmination of seven years effort by many people and many parts of the community since I first conceived and put forward the proposal in '1980. The major feature of the project is the Great Barrier Reef Aquarium - by far the world's largest aquarium featuring a living coral reef system. | en |
