Annual Report 1978-1979

Abstract

The year ending 30 June 1979 has been one in which the Parliament and the community at large have continued to express very considerable interest in, and concern for, the Great Barrier Reef. One of the issues stimulating this interest was the likely effect of what has been called the 'offshore constitutional settlement' on the ambit of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975 (hereinafter called the Act)'.
