Abstract: Summer is a critical time for the health of coral. This snapshot provides a summary of the conditions on the Reef this summer, what this means for coral, and what actions are underway. The Reef remains both amazing and vulnerable. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Australian Institute of Marine Science, and CSIRO work together to ensure that the best available science is being used to ensure a healthy Great Barrier Reef for future generations. The snapshot also outlines some things the public can do to help look after the Reef.
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Australian Institute of Marine Science and CSIRO acknowledge the continuing sea country management and custodianship of the Great Barrier Reef by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Owners, whose rich cultures, heritage values, enduring connections and shared efforts protect the Reef for future generations. We further acknowledge the Wulgurukaba and Bindal Traditional Owners of the Great Barrier Reef and their continuing connections to the land and sea country of this region. We pay respect to them, their cultures and their Elders, both past and present.
