Abstract: [Excerpt] Between 5 September 2016 and 18 November 2016, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (the agency) undertook a second round of public consultation on proposed changes to the permission system. The permission system refers to legislation, policies, guidelines and procedures used by the agency to manage activities within the Marine Park requiring permission, accreditation or notification. More information about the permission system can be found on our website. The focus of this second round of consultation was to gather feedback on proposed changes to policies and guidelines that guide decision making in relation to the permission system. A previous round of consultation was conducted in 2015, focusing on proposed legislative amendments. Details of the first round of consultation are available in the Response to public consultation on proposed changes.
